It’s all cement, my house is built out of cinder blocks, and there is no insulation in my entire home. Here are my questions:
-Is it too short to add a drywall ceiling and floating floors?
– Could I lower the floor somehow? How do I find out how far down sewage pipes might run under the house?
- Would I need to insulate the outside walls? It doesn’t seem that cold, even in the winter, because the heater is down there.
- Would Drylok be enough for keeping the basement dry? How long would that last? Can I paint on top of it?
- How would I build around the air ducts? They go as low as about to 5’5″ off the floor. Would I just have to not build rooms around those?

I’m trying to remodel my living room. We have a small house, the LR is only appx 14×12. We have med-dark wood floors and are painting the walls white (summer shower by valspar). We just bought a big red sectional (not fire engine red, more like a faded red-orange leaning more towards red)

I’m going to neutral accent colors, but I’m not sure about the curtains, there’s only 1 large window in the room, which only allows natural light in in the evening because we have a covered front porch, so I dont want the fabric to be to dark or heavy as to allow as much light in as possible. So should I just go with white? or would that just be to much white in the room?
