Family Room Remodel Question by Crazy Cousin: How big should a great room be?
My husband and I are remodeling & adding to our house. Our architect came up with a design that has ample room for the kitchen and dining areas of the great room, but it looks like the living/family room section will only be 12′x 22’8″. Does that seem like enough space?
The overall size of the great room is the previously mentioned size, plus 30’6″ x 20′ for the kitchen and dining area.

Craig Smith, ServiceMagic.com’s CEO, told the Wall Street Journal that requests for carpet cleaning services, furniture repairs and preventive maintenance on heating and air conditioning systems are on the rise, while requests for architects, engineers, designers and remodelers have dramatically declined.
