Living Room Remodeling Question by Sarah J: What color should I paint the walls and fireplace in the living room?
My husband and I are remodeling our living room. We want to keep the wall color in the beige family, but we don’t know what color to paint the fireplace. We have peanut colored carpet and a beige sofa and chair. Our furniture is a dark cherry color.

antique white will do best, ex painter its bright and reflects light well so your pieces stand out as well as furniture. GOOD LUCK

I saw a house with beige walls and only in the fireplace area that wall was covered with stone! it looked so classy and I def fell in love with it!
for the walls, use a rich creamy brown slightly darker than the carpet. try this color: Sherwin Williams “Hopsack”.
For the fireplace, use a bolder dark brown with a hint of red in it, try this: “Arresting Auburn”
you should play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find something you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the “painted” rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I think it would look really sharp to paint the fireplace “Tricorn Black” (# 6258)?
I believe you should try to match the fireplace with the dark cherry furniture as close as possible.
I’ll have to agree that the antique white will look nice and enhance everything in the room.
